Terry, Lockridge & Dunn and World Trend Financial, located in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, organized a fundraising week for the dates of July 16 through July 20. The two firms raised nearly $1,500 in donations for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa. Their charity week included many fun ways for the thirty plus employees to donate. The employees could donate for such things as wearing casual attire, enjoying a meal put on by the office, and leaving work early. “It was great walking through the halls and seeing everyone in shorts and jeans; it provided a really neat atmosphere for the entire week,” noted Mike Mesch of Terry, Lockridge & Dunn.
“The speaker was very inspirational; their situation could happen to anyone,” remarked Heidi Rosenberg of World Trend when asked about her most memorable part of the fundraising week. The two companies kicked off their charity week by having a speaker come in to talk about her son’s wish through the Foundation. Overall, the employees view their donation week as a success and are pleased with the amount of money they raised. They hope to make this an annual event in their office for future years.
