Terry Lockridge & Dunn instrumental in LEED
Leadership in Energy Efficient Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification system. It provides third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all aspects of environmental quality, stewardship of resources, and sensitivity to their impacts.
Tim Terry, the chairman of Terry Lockridge and Dunn and World Trend Financial, has been a major leader in LEED building. This summer marks the one year anniversary of the firms occupying their new LEED inspired office located on Mormon Trek Boulevard in Iowa City, Iowa. The firms are continuing to set an example in the community as a result of the interest generated by the building projects. As the President of the Board of Trustees at Willowwind School, (an independent elementary and pre-school for children ages three through twelve), Tim was instrumental in assisting the school through its LEED project. The school recently received Gold LEED certificatoin.
Willowwind is currently the only elementary school in the entire state and one of only handfull of elementary schools in the country to obtain Gold LEED status.
