2022 Health Savings Account and High-Deductible Health Plan Limits Announced

HSA.jpgThe IRS has announced the 2022 inflation adjusted amounts for various items. These are effective for renewal dates beginning January  1, 2022 or later.

The minimum deductible remains unchanged at $1400 for self-only coverage and $2800 for family coverage. The out-of-pocket maximums for high-deductible health plans (HDHP) have increased to $7050 for self-only coverage and $14100 for family coverage. Out-of-pocket limits for Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliant health plans will rise to $8700 for self-only coverage and $17400 for family coverage.

The Health Savings Accounts (HSA) limits are $3650 for self-only coverage and $7300 for family coverage. Individuals aged 55 years and over may contribute an extra $1000 to their HSA. Remember that you must have a qualified HDHP to contribute to an HSA.
